Author: David Shannon
Summary: This is the tale of a young girl who forgoes being herself in order to feel accepted at school - until she she develops a bad case of stripes. The story takes the reader through several funny attempts at curing stripes before revealing the cure is for the young girl to simply be herself. My opinion: I like this book because the author has a wild imagination. I also like the moral in the story. It's kind of like a fable, except it's written, not collected. I've read this book several times and even brought it to share last year with my Brownie troop and my 2nd grade class. Rating: 5 stars (out of 5) |
What a funny story! If only we'd all develop stripes if we were trying to be someone we weren't in order to please other people. I think I would like this book too....
